HR: Building a Culture of Engagement: Why and How to Build a Passionate and Engaged Team

Careers begin from a passionate place. The first day of work for our employees was exciting, intriguing, and joyful. However, with demanding roles, people often lose sight of their initial enthusiasm.  Slowly our employees' daily responsibilities wear down their commitment and they can slip into complacency.

Recent Gallup Poll Studies estimate that on average only 29% of an organization’s staff are truly engaged in their work. This correlates to 71% of teams at any given organization being disengaged.

The question becomes “how can we can find a way to reignite passion within our teams and get them recommitted to their roles in the organization?  If we are successful, then we can create environments that cultivate engagement, reduce turnover, and increase overall workplace satisfaction.

In this session, learn how to become a positive catalyst, collaborate enthusiastically and build a peerless culture of authentic engagement that inspires your team.

OM: Put “Design Thinking” to Work for You and Discover the Engineer in You!

Design Thinking is a method to help us in the area of process improvement for the practical, creative resolution of problems using the strategies designers use during the process of designing.  It is a unique approach to solving problems – of all sorts – using a simple process.  Design Thinking is a particularly good process for solving “wicked problems” – i.e. not malicious problems, but rather problems that are tricky and ill-defined.

In our Design Thinking workshop, we will:

  • Explore the various stages of design thinking utilizing a series of everyday situations to which we can all relate, making this seemingly technical process more real and infinitely usable;
  • Put our learning to work by attempting to solve some problems together.  Everything is simpler and clearer when we can apply it to our lives;
  • Learn some new (and fun) ways to think;
  • Know how to explain the essential elements of Design Thinking;
  • Be able to answer the burning question of how Design Thinking can work for you in your roles as law firm leaders, and your firms.

At the conclusion of this workshop, attendees will have not only learned the nuances of design thinking and how to apply the concepts, you will also be provided a rich resource list including a variety of tools and templates, and sources for additional training and information.
