Session 3 Courses

Thinking Out Loud: Putting a Strategic Mindset into Action
Strategic thinking has become a focus for many organizations, as the role of the manager pushes beyond traditional operational limits. Firms need managers who can help internal and external clients “see around corners” and better anticipate opportunities.
Nothing prepares you for success better than practice. This interactive live session is the third of a series and will provide participants with an opportunity to observe and/or participate first-hand in how to strategically analyze an opportunity. Loeb Leadership will use a real-life law firm problem as the core of the exercise. Participants will:

  • Explore the most common tactical pitfalls of thinking strategically.
  • Practice translating strategic thinking into action plans.
  • Become more skilled at anticipating future opportunities and challenges.
  • Have increased agility and anticipate ways to add value to the firm.
  • Feel more motivation and excitement in their work.

Analyze This!: Attorney Productivity in the New Paradigm

Classic measures of attorney productivity may no longer be as relevant as the legal industry faces a paradigm shift from law firm-dominated fee structures to the rising purchasing power of clients and their demands for transparency in legal services costs. Measuring attorney productivity has been an increasing focus in an environment where law firm inefficiencies can no longer be passed on to the client. With more price-certain fee structures, there are growing pressures to drive firm profitability on the backs of attorneys.

During this fast-paced session, legal administrators will discuss the challenges and pitfalls of measuring attorney productivity with incomplete, biased and unstructured data. A more comprehensive approach to value and client outcomes will be explored. Participants will share perspectives on the practical implementation of attorney productivity measures and will dive into what we can incorporate from machine learning and AI into our ability to better influence behaviors and outcomes.
