Emergency Skills, Inc. is proud to offer Mental Health First Aid Training to the members of the ALA! This ground -breaking, informative, and interactive program aims to increase awareness about mental illness and decrease the stigma associated with it.
Stu dents will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of several mental illn esses and substance abuse. They will learn and apply a concrete set of tool s designed to help them interact with a person in crisis. In order to rece ive certification, members are required to attend all 4 sessions. However, you may still attend any session but will not receive the certificate.
The “Mental Health First Aid” 8-Hour training will be split up into 4 sessions - on 2 consecutive Tuesday/Thursdays from 8:00 am to 10 :00 am. The schedule is as follows:
