Please join the ALANYC Sustainability Team as we take a deep dive into A Plastic Ocean, a film by Craig Leeson and Tanya Streeter, which depicts the devastating effects of plastic pollution on our environment and particularly marine life. A Plastic Ocean is an adventure documentary shot in more than 20 locations from 2012 to 2016. Explorers Craig Leeson and Tanya Streeter with a team of international scientists reveal the causes and consequences of plastic pollution and share solutions.

“Plastic wreaks havoc on the ocean environment and the planets, animals, and fish that live in and around.  Whales, which feed by opening their large jaws and taking in large amounts of water, along with whatever is in it, then expel the water, end up with stomachs full of plastic instead of krill.”

After viewing the film, you will have a better understanding of the impact of plastic use, the future of plastics and what you can do to help.

Watch the film here: https://watchdocumentaries.com/a-plastic-ocean/ then join us on September 29th for an in-depth discussion and Q&A followed by a game of Kahoot!. Giveaways to winners.
