We look beyond tech audits to see what other firms are doing right now regarding data governance and how they got started. We will discuss how you can develop and implement a program that is right-sized for your firm. We start with a definition of data governance, then look at who at the firm is responsible for what. We continue with a discussion on developing a program and - hearing from those who have been down this path already – their pain points.

Bios: 

Dan Reyes is the Managing Director of LDI CONNECT, the managed IT services division of LDI Color Toolbox.  In his role, Dan manages the technology, processes, and personnel responsible for delivering security and support services to LDI CONNECT's client base.

Chris Zegers is the Director of Consulting – Legal at Ivionics. Chris is responsible for providing Ivionics’ law firm and corporate legal department clients with strategic consulting for data management and governance, knowledge management, business intelligence and internal reporting, productivity, process and project management, and legal drafting and research automation technology.

Before Chris’ arrival at Ivionics, he spent 22 years guiding law firm leaders through endless innovations required to ensure exceptional client service and process efficiency. Chris managed teams upwards of 30 and budgets upwards of $10 million. He was most recently Chief Information Officer of a prominent national firm of 300 attorneys. Chris is a frequent author and speaker on legal processes, risk management, and cyber security.

Chris earned his master's degree from the University of Michigan School of Information, and is Vice President of the Board of Directors of Jersey Cares.

Douglas Gibson is the Director of Information at Chaffetz Lindsey and ALANYC’s Team Leader on Technology. He will moderate.
